International Baccalaureate
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) is a two-year international programme that prepares Sixth Form students for university and higher education. This program fosters creative thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication—essential skills in an increasingly globalized and ever-changing world.
The IB Diploma is offered in 160 countries and is recognized by the best universities worldwide and in Spain as solid preparation for higher education.
How Does it Work?
Students choose six subjects from different groups, including their mother tongue, a second language, mathematics, at least one science subject, and options in humanities and arts, as well as other subjects like business management or psychology. Three subjects are studied at the "standard" level, while the other three are explored in depth.
In addition to the subjects, students must complete the core components of the IB program, which will motivate them to make a difference in their community, learn new skills, and discover the world around them. The components of this core are:
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK): Lessons on critical thinking.
- Extended Essay: A research project that introduces students to the demands of independent work before entering university.
- Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS): Experiences and challenges through which students will develop their skills individually or as part of a team.
